Arcwave X15 Pro review: the brightest screen we have ever measured

Arcwave has spent three generations closing the gap with the biggest names in smartphones. With the X15 Pro, it has arguably overtaken them in two areas that matter every day: the display and battery life.

Display: readable at noon in Colombo

Our colorimeter measured 2,960 nits peak brightness in HDR and 1,750 nits full-screen — figures that make the X15 Pro easy to read in direct tropical sunlight. The LTPO panel drops to 1 Hz for the always-on display, which helps the battery.

Cameras

The 50 MP main camera produces natural colours with excellent dynamic range. The real star is the 5× periscope: night shots at 120 mm are sharp enough to crop, something we could not say about last year’s model.

Battery and charging

With mixed use — two hours of maps, an hour of video, social apps and around 300 photos — we ended most days with 45–55% remaining. 80 W charging takes it from flat to full in 38 minutes.

• Loved: display, zoom camera, battery, seven years of updates
• Not so much: no charger in the box, 214 g is heavy for long calls

Verdict: 9/10. The X15 Pro is the easiest flagship recommendation of the year.
